The perfect digital assistant: The VDO WorkshopTab2

WorkshopTab 2 from VDO

The testing and calibration of smart VDO tachographs can be carried out at the vehicle with the VDO WorkshopTab2 – with immediate online processing of the data.

The DTCO® 4.0 smart tachograph also uses the GNSS global navigation satellite system. A GNSS test is compulsory to specify the exact vehicle position at any time. You can also carry out this test easily using the WorkshopTab.

Intuitive sequences guide you reliably through all the functions, step-by-step. The software does all the paperwork in the background. The relevant documents are transferred from the vehicle to the printer at the push of a button.

The new EU regulation requires mandatory map updates to be installed on the DTCO 4.1 on a regular basis, which must be carried out at the latest during the next upcoming periodic tachograph inspection.

The WorkshopTab is equipped with the corresponding software and the WorkshopTab DTCO update cable is required for this purpose.

Update cable

With the introduction of the 2nd version of the smart tachograph, map updates for the purpose of updating geodata will be mandatory in the future.

Corresponding updates can be performed on the tachograph with the VDO WorkshopTab via the VDO WorkshopTab DTCO update cable. The update cable should therefore be part of the basic equipment of every tachograph workshop.

VDO Label Printer

The VDO Label Printer prints the installation label for the tachograph on a label provided for this purpose directly and uncomplicated. The annoying and sometimes tedious removal of the old label and the sealing foil are no longer necessary. The marking on the high-quality thermal transfer print lasts for at least two years, i.e. until the next inspection. The installation label can be adapted to the label to be printed, which makes the VDO Label Printer flexible and future-proof, e.g. in terms of possible QR code solutions.

Our VDO Workshop Services provide VDO partner workshops with everything they need for testing tachographs: a comprehensive, carefree package including a replacement device service, maintenance and a hotline – even online remote diagnostics are possible. The basic requirement for getting started with the new tachograph test is the wireless VDO WorkshopTab – and with the VDO Workshop Services, you’ll automatically receive all the software upgrades currently necessary for testing tachographs.
